Wilderness Impact Ministry

Honoring the God of Creation as Stewards of the Wilderness

 

WFMC lives in the purpose and promise of transformation. We extend the ministry of transformation to our enjoyment of the wilderness, mountains, and rivers through projects and activities that will engage us responsibly in conservation.

 

Wilderness Impact Projects
Projects will have a purpose of supporting, maintaining, or healing the land or rivers.

· Trail clearing and repair, Forest Service project support

· Fish and insect counts

· Pacific Crest Trail maintenance

· River and stream cleaning and log jam clearing

· Wilderness and nature education

· Back-country trail breaking

· Projects will be in line with volunteer programs for the Forest Service or   Game Department

 

Wilderness Impact Teams

· Each Project will have a Team coordinator/leader

· The Teams will be appropriate size and ability for the Project

· Men’s groups, Father/son teams, Family teams, Home-school families, etc

· Coordinator will organize resource people and equipment

· Fishing or Hiking with Kids (no specific date)

· Silver Falls Trail Signs – Overnight at Campground

· Columbia River Bug Count – August (up to High School age)

· Chiwawa River Bull Trout Count

· Sage Hill Trail Development – Chelan/Douglas Land Trust

· Blackbird Island (Lake Chelan) Hatchery Steelhead

· Four Lakes Trash pick-up

· Mission Ridge Hike and Trash pick-up

· Big Tree Walks

· Fly Tying

· Pacific Crest Trail Maintenance (Adopt a section of trail)
